Hello, and welcome to a new category here at Dreams, Schemes, and Bento Themes. I have been bringing my littlest to Story Time at our local library every week. The kids get to sing and dance, listen to a story, and do a craft. Afterwards, we play on the pirate ship in the children’s area and look for books to bring home. Seeing all these fun children’s books and the adorable literary lunches created by my friend, Keitha, over at Keitha’s Chaos, I was inspired to start doing my own Story Book Bentos. And the best parts is that my little LOVES them. He gets SO excited when I set one in front of him. Here is Gus The Dinosaur Bus by Julie Liu.
Today’s lunch –
- Gus The Dinosaur PB sammy with smiley face picks from All Things For Sale
- Cheese stick buildings
- mini clementine with bus ring
- pretzel crisps with stop light ring
Gus is a sweet dinosaur who’s sole job is picking up children and bringing them to school. He loves his work and he loves the children, but there are some problems that arise being such a large creature in a small city. Can Gus continue with his beloved career? Or does he need to find another job? Read this fun book to see what happens…
